Room members and roles
Owner, admin, moderator and member roles, and how to promote, time out, kick, ban or hand over a room.

Roles
| Role | Can |
|---|---|
| Owner | Everything, including deleting the room and handing it to someone else. There's one owner. |
| Admin | Manage the room's settings and moderators. Only the owner can add or remove admins. |
| Moderator | Moderate posts, comments and chat, review the queue, and manage members. |
| Member | Post, comment and chat, following the room's rules. |
Manage a member
- Open Room Settings > Members. Use Search members to find someone.
- Tap the member and choose:
- Role — make them a moderator or admin, or a member again.
- Standing & warnings — their strikes here, a formal warning, or holding their next posts for review.
- Time out — stop them posting here for a while. Moderators can't be timed out; change their role first.
- Kick from room — remove them. They can join again with an invite.
- Ban member — remove them and block their return.
Only the owner can change or remove another moderator or admin.
Hand over the room
- Open the member's options and tap Make them the owner.
- Confirm Hand it over.
The room becomes theirs. You stay on as an admin, so you can still moderate, or leave. Only the new owner can hand the room on again or delete it.
