Leave or delete a group

Leave a group

1. Open the group and tap its name.
2. Scroll down and tap Exit Group.
3. Confirm with EXIT GROUP.

Everyone sees that you left. You can still read the old messages on your phone, but you can't send or receive new ones. You can also leave from the chat list: long-press the group and tap Exit Group, or Exit and Delete Group to leave and remove it from your list at the same time.

Delete a group for everyone

Only the person who created the group (its owner) can delete it:

1. Open the group profile.
2. Tap Delete Group.
3. Confirm Delete Group?

This permanently deletes the group and all its messages for everyone, and can't be undone.

Frequently asked questions

Will people be told that I left?

Yes. The group shows you left the group.

Can I rejoin a group I left?

Only if an admin, or a member who is allowed to add people, adds you again.
