Edit a message you sent

You can change the text of a message after you've sent it.

1. Long-press your message.
2. Tap Edit.
3. The composer shows Editing message. Change the text and send it.

Tap Cancel edit to keep the message as it was.

Everyone in the chat sees the new text, with an Edited label on the message.

What can't be edited

• Messages sent by other people.
• Photos, videos, voice notes, stickers and other media. Only text messages can be edited.
• View-once media and deleted messages.

To remove a message completely, delete it.
