Work through these in order. After each one, send a test notification.

1. Check Zaplog's own settings

Open Settings > Notifications. If it says Turned off — nothing below will reach you, tap Allow notifications. Also check that the chat isn't muted.

2. Check your phone's settings

On Android

  • Settings > Apps > Zaplog > Notifications: make sure they're on, including the Messages, Groups and Calls categories.
  • Check Do Not Disturb isn't on, or that Zaplog is allowed through it.

On iPhone

  • Settings > Zaplog > Notifications: turn on Allow Notifications, and check Lock Screen, Banners and Sounds.
  • Check that a Focus mode isn't silencing Zaplog.

3. Let Zaplog run in the background (Android)

Some phones stop apps in the background to save battery, which delays notifications. Set Zaplog's battery usage to Unrestricted (or Don't optimize). See Keep Zaplog working in the background.

4. Check your connection

Notifications need an internet connection. If the Chats screen shows No internet connection or Reconnecting…, see Connection problems.

5. Open Zaplog

After restarting your phone or updating Zaplog, open the app once. On iPhone, a phone that's just been restarted may not show notifications until it's unlocked.

6. Signed in on another phone?

Zaplog works on one phone at a time. If you signed in somewhere else, this phone was signed out and won't get notifications.

Reminders arrive late

For Organized, ZapFit and Notes reminders, the Organized timeline warns if Alerts may arrive late because the phone won't wake the app at an exact time. Tap Fix to allow exact alarms for Zaplog.
