Manage storage on your phone

This is about space on your phone. For your account's storage allowance, see Your account storage.

Open Settings > Storage and data > Manage storage.

On this device

A bar shows everything Zaplog keeps on your phone, split into App, Data and Cache, next to your phone's free space. Below it you'll see what takes the room, such as Downloaded chat media, Zappy and Zaplog answers, Podcast downloads, Note attachments, ZapCloud files and Image previews.

Media in your chats

This lists every chat by how much media it holds, downloaded or not, and how much of it is on this phone.

Tap a chat to:

• Remove downloaded media — deletes the downloaded photos, videos and files from this phone. The messages stay, and each file downloads again when you tap it.
• Clear messages in this chat — removes its messages and media from this phone. The chat stays in your list.

Locked chats are listed under Locked chats with their names hidden.

Downloaded files

Downloaded files lists every file you've downloaded from chats. Filter by Larger than 5 MB or Not in any chat, sort by Largest or Newest, select files and tap Remove from phone. Files that are no longer in any chat are gone for good.

Free up space

Free up space clears cached thumbnails and temporary files. Your messages and media aren't touched; cached images are fetched again when you next open them.
