Media auto-download

Photos and videos

Open your profile (Settings, then tap your name) and turn Auto-download media on or off.

• On: photos and videos in your chats arrive ready to view.
• Off: tap a photo or video in a chat to download it.

Audio and documents

Open Settings > Storage and data. Under Media auto-download, choose what downloads by itself:

• When using mobile data — nothing, by default.
• When connected on Wi-Fi — audio and documents, by default.

Size limit

Auto-download limit covers photos and videos too. Anything bigger than the limit waits for you to tap it, on any network. The default is No limit.

Reset

Reset storage settings sets auto-download and the size limit back to their defaults. Nothing stored on your phone is deleted.
