Send photos and videos

Send pictures and videos from your gallery or camera, edit them, add captions and make collages.

  1. In a chat, tap the paper clip (Attach). Your Recent photos and videos appear at the top.
  2. Tap Gallery to see more, then tap each photo or video you want. The count shows how many are selected.
  3. Add a caption in Add a caption… if you like.
  4. Tap Send.

Several photos sent together appear as an album in the chat.

Take a photo or video

Tap the camera button next to the message box, or Attach > Camera. Take a photo, or record a video, then send it.

Edit before sending

Tap the preview of what you selected (Edit the selected media) to open the editor:

Use Undo and Redo while you edit.

Make a collage

  1. Tap Attach > Layout.
  2. Choose up to 6 photos.
  3. Pick a layout. Tap a photo to move or remove it, or tap two photos to swap them. Use Shuffle, Gap and Corners to fine-tune it.
  4. Tap Next and send.

Size limits

Photos, videos and files can be up to 100 MB each. Larger files show Media too large (100MB limit). For bigger files, upload them to ZapCloud and share a link. See Share a file with a link.

Frequently asked questions

Are photos compressed?

Photos and videos are prepared for sending so they arrive quickly. To send a file exactly as it is, send it as a document with All Files. See Send documents and files.

Can I send a photo that disappears?

Yes. Turn on View once before you send. See View-once photos and videos.
