ZapRooms notifications

Your inbox

Open Notifications in the rooms drawer. DMs, mentions, replies, reactions, votes, follows, awards and moderation updates appear here. Filter them with All, Messages, Mentions, Replies, Votes, Social and Moderation, or search them.

Use Mark all as read, or long-press one to Mark as read, open the room, or mute it.

Choose how a room notifies you

Open the room's menu and its notification settings. Choose:

• All messages — every new message.
• Only @mentions — messages that name you, plus @everyone and @here.
• Nothing.

You can also mute a room for a few hours, or until you turn it back on. Mute a single channel and it stays quiet even when the room is set to notify you.

Set the default for rooms you join from now on in ZapRooms settings under Content & Social > Room defaults. Tap Apply these to my existing rooms to change rooms you're already in.

Pause notifications

In ZapRooms settings under Notifications, tap Pause notifications and choose For 1 hour, For 8 hours or For 24 hours. Notifications still arrive, but without a sound or a buzz. Tap Resume notifications to end it early.

Quiet hours

Turn on Enable quiet hours and set Quiet hours start and Quiet hours end to silence ZapRooms sounds and vibration every night.

Other notification options

• Vibrate on mentions — buzz when a message names you.
• Message sounds and Join and leave sounds for channels and voice.
• Threads & follows — replies on posts you follow, your answers, and events starting soon.
• Voice channels starting — when a conversation starts in a voice channel of a room you're in.
• Weekly digest — every Monday, the week's top posts in each of your rooms, in your inbox. Turn on Send it as a notification too for one notification a week.
