Zappy can work on its own, on a schedule or when something happens. Just ask.

Examples

  • "Every weekday at 8am, tell me what's on today."
  • "Remind me to call Sam at 6."
  • "Tell me if someone says 'bro' in the G1 group."
  • "Let me know when my storage gets close to full."
  • "Ask me what I ate for lunch every day at 2."

Kinds of automation

KindWhat it does
ScheduledRuns at a time, or every day or weekday at a time (Every day at a time).
RemindersA one-off nudge at the time you say.
Chat keywordWhen someone says a word or phrase in a chat, or in any chat, Zappy tells you straight away. Matching ignores case and works on whole words, so "bro" doesn't match "brother". Emoji and symbols match anywhere. Locked and blocked chats are skipped.
Meeting briefs15 minutes before each meeting: who it's with, where you left things, and anything in your notes. Uses your phone's calendar and, if connected, Outlook.
WatchesWhen something changes, for example a file, a pull request, or your storage.
Check-insWeigh-in and Food check-in prompts for ZapFit.

Zappy notices your habits

If you keep asking Zappy for the same thing at about the same time, it may offer to automate it: "By the way — you've asked me for this several times lately… Want me to take care of it every day?" Ignore it and it won't bring it up again. This is worked out on your phone.

See and remove automations

Open Settings > Zappy > Automations & reminders. Each automation shows when it runs. Tap one to Remove it; you can ask Zappy for it again later. Automations pause while the part of Zaplog they need is switched off.

Good to know

  • Automations run on your phone, so it needs to be on and online. On iPhone, a silent notification wakes Zaplog when an automation is due.
  • An automation that would message someone, delete something or reach another person still asks first, unless you've allowed it.
