Energy budget

Two hours of admin and two hours of deep work take the same space on a calendar, but cost you very different amounts. The energy budget measures effort, not just time.

Turn it on

1. Open You > Energy monitor.
2. Turn on Track daily energy.
3. Set a Daily limit in points.

A meter above the timeline then shows what the day already costs.

Give tasks an energy level

In the task editor, set Energy to Light, Moderate, Heavy or Intense. Each level costs a number of points per hour, shown next to it. A longer task costs more.

When the day's total passes your limit, the meter shows you're over budget, so you can move or drop something.

If no tasks today have an energy level, the meter says No energy set on today's tasks.
