Search ZapCloud

Tap Search in ZapCloud and type in Search your cloud. Search looks at names, tags, and the words inside photos, PDFs and documents.

Filters

• Date — narrow results to a time range.
• Type — show one kind of thing at a time: photos, videos, documents and more.
• Tags — browse everything with a tag.

Search inside files

ZapCloud reads the text in photos, PDFs and documents on your phone, and stores only the words it finds alongside your file, so search works on all your devices. The same pass makes the thumbnails you see in the grids.

New uploads are indexed as they arrive. To check older files, open ZapCloud's settings and tap Index files for search:

• See how many files are Indexed, have text, or are still waiting.
• Index now to work through the queue straight away. Keep the page open; what's finished stays indexed if you stop.
• Index in the background works through the queue every few hours, on Wi-Fi, when the battery isn't low.
• Index everything again re-reads every file, for a library indexed before files were renamed or replaced.

Indexing downloads each file it hasn't seen. If you're on mobile data and ZapCloud is set to wait for Wi-Fi, ZapCloud asks before indexing. Very large files can only be found by name.
