What Zappy reads

Zappy only reads what a request needs. It doesn't continuously scan your data. When you ask something, the content needed to answer — such as chat excerpts, email bodies, file text, note contents, health figures or planner entries — is sent to Zaplog's AI as part of the request.

How Zappy's data is stored

Zappy's conversation, memories, automations and attachments are encrypted on your phone before they're backed up to your account, so Zaplog's servers hold only encrypted copies. Your history follows your account to a new phone.

Your profile

Zappy is told your birthday, age and gender, so it can use the right grammar and wish you a happy birthday. They're left out when Zappy answers @zappy in a chat others can see.

Location

Zappy uses your location only to answer questions about the weather, places near you, or travel times, and only while Zaplog is open on your screen. Only a town or neighborhood name is sent; distances are worked out on your phone.

Ways to limit Zappy

Messages from Zaplog

Occasionally Zaplog's team sends an announcement that appears as a message from Zappy. These are written by people and aren't based on your data.
